I am Drink

People think that drink is an external substance which alters the person. But the truth is that drink is already within the person. We don't just drink. We are drink. You are drink. I am drink.
.
It is merely a great cosmic coincidence that drink brings out the drink within us.
.
This is what happened with the great Welsh poet Dylan Thomas (pictured above).
.
While Answers.com says of Thomas - "Writer Dylan Marlais Thomas famously drank himself to death at the age of 39 and left behind some of the most celebrated poems of the 20th century, including "Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night" (1952)." - We prefer to think that the drink was already there - within him - and was in fact the lifeforce behind his art and the power that gave him life.
.
May he Rest in Drink.
