American drink

Espresso in Chicago. Now that's a start to a morning. Now in it's time to drink in this amazing city. A first time for me, but what a stunning place. Buildings that take you back in time. People who smile. A river that snakes through some of the coolest architecture of the 20th century.

And a pinot blanc from Alsace last night on the 16th floor overlooking the Wrigley building. Alsace never tasted so good.

More to come.

  1. Very pleased to see this outcome of MoBlogging. A beautiful photo Sir. You are an artist - a fitting chronicler of the Chicago School of architecture. May I suggest though Sir that you eliminate that rather superfluous and indeed ugly Blackberry signature that is tacked onto your otherwise sublime posts?

The Chicago school would not approve. Less is more, Sir.

BTW - given that you are in Chicago and we are discussing architecture I have Sir taken it upon myself to include directions to Frank Lloyd Wright's Home and Studio:

"Downtown Chicago - Take I-290 West. Exit at Harlem Avenue (Rte. 43) Turn right (north), and drive 1.5 miles to Chicago Avenue. Turn right (east) on Chicago. The Home and Studio is 3 blocks east on the right side of the street."

I suggest you pay a visit. As you know - Mr. Wright was drink. He was a little bit serious - and crazy - but he was drink.

You know - this blogging - and those few sections of the Saturday Post I was earlier able to consume - is causing me to get closer to my optimum drink state. I am beginning to feel less normal. Thank goodness. I don't like normal. I don't like flat. It's like an oxidized bottle of wine or the end of a beer keg.

Thank you Sir for your newspaper recommendation and that shot of the Chicago skyline...
